Maverick Health is a company dedicated to creating a health care system to complement our current sick care system. Its mission is to reduce chronic diseases and prevent catastrophic health events in both individuals and populations. Taking a very practical and measurable approach, Maverick Health teaches people with no prior medical knowledge how to effectively and efficiently manage their own health and health care.

How does it work?

The Maverick Health approach is simple, but the knowledge you will gain is complex. Through a series of easy to answer questions and a few routine measurements (outlined in detail in A Nurse Practitioner’s Guide to Smart Health Choices), you detail and document your personal medical history and learn how to assess your own current health status. Once you have identified your particular risk factors (and we all have some), you learn what you need to know in order to set smart goals that will reduce your risks to normal. Using the power of your personal lifestyle behaviors and, when necessary, medications and treatments offered by health professionals, it is possible not only to reverse current health problems but prevent future ones, too.
